Improve Touch: Regulation
Regulation is the act of adjusting all the moving parts in the piano action to achieve even touch and maximum control. Each piano is assessed individually and is custom regulated for optimal performance. New pianos should be regulated within the first five years of purchase. The odds are your piano needs a regulation!

Improve Tone: Voicing
Voicing is the act of controlling tone, power, and sustain in the piano. Generally, needles are used to free up the hammer felt to allow hard hammers to speak freely, or stiffening solutions are applied to restore tone and power to dull sounding hammers.

Hammer Filing
Piano hammers are made of dense layers of felt. With enough playing, deep grooves will be pounded into the surface, negatively effecting the tone of the piano. Hammer filing removes the layers of grooved felt, allowing the piano to be voiced appropriately, and restoring the tone.
Light voicing is usually required after filing to provide a new, even and consistent tone for your piano. -
